Hello and thanks for taking the time to read my profile.

I started my career in 1997 as a web developer (HTML, JavaScript, VBScript, CSS, ASP) before discovering the joy of using SQL Server and gratefully left Access behind. I loved writing T-SQL so much, I decided to learn more about SQL Server internals and studied for the Microsoft MCPs. By this point .NET was well established and I moved into software development and love it with a passion!

I founded Norb Technologies with my business parter (an excellent DBA and developer) and now work on both Windows and web apps, as well as running SQL Server Club.

I'm a keen member of DotNetDevNet and have also been a volunteer for SQLBits.

Life outside of Visual Studio/SSMS/BOL revolves around my mountain bike, coffee, beer, bird-watching, and marine life - I'm currently doing an Open University course on Life in the Oceans.
